And the Oscar goes to......

We have Oscar fever here in the office today. We were even catching up with some of the nominated movies last night. (saw Inception yesterday and I'm dizzy)

All the Oscar talk of course led us to a major debate. What are the greatest swimsuit moments in film? We came up with a major list but we narrowed it down to these nominees.

And the swimsuit Oscar nominees are....

Princess Leia (must add cult classic) in gold bikini.

Played by Carrie Fischer

Ursula Andress in Dr. No

Where else would she put her knife?

Deborah Kerr from Here to Eternity

Of course a scandal in 1953.

The Winner is.....

Phoebe Cates in Fast Times At Ridgemont High

A red bikini at it's best!

P.S Our Runner up was....

Brook Shields and Christopher Atkins in The Blue Lagoon

Best of the best.

We can't wait to have Rica on the big screen!

I love the cinema!!

Fashion flashback!

Donyale Luna from 1966

Of course I want this look. Have we met?

Otis Redding makes us shake in our boots.

Here is the amazingly talented Otis Redding tearing it up!!!!! I mean this footage really gets us dancing. Otis Redding was at the peak of his creativity and was unstoppable when he unfortunately died in a plane crash. He was 26 years old in 1967 when he died and it was way too soon.

P.S.
Everyone is wearing his slim suit right now!

We only read Playboy for the articles.

I am sharing with you my personal copy of Playboy featuring Darine Sten the first black model to grace the cover. The only problem is that here is no center fold or spread but I still love the cover.

I'd like to thank my dad for being a collector of Playboy. I inherited some amazing issues I'm sure I will be sharing with you in the future.

Kinda want the chair.

These are our morning day dreams.

She's just missing the cocktail and it's pretty much what we think about. The lounging Rica woman is all we obsess over.

A map does make the perfect pillow.

I'll wear a Stephen Burrows dress any day.

Stephen Burrows has created some of my favorite pieces in fashion. Of course I Love the 1970's disco chic but I do respect and love the ready to wear that he creates today. He's beyond major to the point of having his name permanently in the fashion walk of fame of 7th avenue. Fashion royalty. Please check out his website for more glamour.

Just slide.

I would have liked to attend this party with him.
Burrow's at Studio 54 with the girls.

Just found this vintage Stephen Burrows jacket up for bid and I need it. I just need it.

Hot damn.

Black History Month!

In honor of black history month we're celebrating fashion, art, and music. I would like to share with you some of the people I admire.

I, of course, want to start off with my love for Josephine Baker. I mean that's how it should be started, isn't it? I imagine myself in Paris, at Chez Josephine watching her perform. Her sensuality emanating from every pore, inspiring everyone and turning men into putty. Her style and talent have been such an inspiration for me over the years. I hope that she inspires you too!!

Just a few special pieces to complete a look.
Do you want this look as much as I do?

These is the only time we crave bananas.

And Humor.

In case you need a little sexy music break...

I warn you this song may lead to dim lights and some kissing.
