Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween to my zombies, ghost and goblins!!

Rica participated in a pumpkin carving contest at Crest Hardware store. It's been a very long time since we carved a pumpkin. Either way we had a great time doing it and almost thought we had a slight chance in winning. Then we got there and realized there was some serious competition.  We had no chance in hell.

Tonight should be fun for us. We are going to see Karen Black for her halloween show and then head to  Nublu to check out our friends Jessica 6 perform.

Here is ours! Had a few to many.

We Tried :(

The artist. Frida Kahlo.

Frida Kahlo is beyond. The Mexican born artist is an icon for her very unique style and intense art.  I have always been attracted to her art but recently it's become more personal.  Her style is inspiring but her work and passion is something you really see in her colorful and graphic pieces.

"I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration."

"I tried to drown my sorrows, but the bastards learned how to swim, and now I am overwhelmed by this decent and good feeling."

"I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best."

Viva la Latin Heritage Month!

As I'm writing this entry I have my cafe con leche on my right and my pan de queso to my left. We want  to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and share with you the people we admire and love. So for the remainder of this month Rica will give respect to those have inspired us creatively and opened our minds.

Here is the wonderful woman who made me the woman I am today. She's beyond.  My mom, Eva Sanjurjo.  Click to read about her and what she has done for the Hunts Point community.

Check. Check. 1234 Check Boobies

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month and here at Rica want to remind you to check your breast, titis, bubble bees, rack, watermelons, chi chi's, tatas, fun bags and/or my personal favorite bosom.

My mom fought breast cancer 8 years ago and I know that catching it early saved her life. Be aware of your body and don't neglect your yearly visits. It's important.  We care about you and want to see your lovely twosomes at the beach.
